One of my earliest memories is of my mom using a small black knife to make me a salad. She used that small black knife for everything, from cutting a cucumber to slicing a roasted chicken. She did not have a fancy chef’s knife or a Santoku, just a small, extremely sharp black knife.
As I grew up and had kids of my own, I wanted to introduce them to cooking, but chef’s knives were too big for their tiny hands, and steak knives were too dull to be safe. Then I remembered that small and extremely sharp black knife. It was perfect!
I asked my mom to give me one of hers and realized it was the same one she had used for over 30 years. The more I used it, the more I fell in love with this tiny knife; soon enough, I used it exclusively. That is when my daughter and I decided to start Sharky Sharp.
